Sr. Business Planning Analyst
Description
The job entails leading the development and execution of quantitative analysis, providing expertise in forecasting, market segmentation, competitive intelligence, market/customer analysis, business analysis, financial analysis, financial modeling, metric development, engineering, and decision support using computer modeling techniques. Uses financial and operating data to measure, analyze, and project profit-and-loss, return-on-investment, cash flow, capital justifications, risks, and benefits. Provides feasibility and business impact, ensuring a focus on corporate impact. Developing and executing presentations to executive and senior management is another key aspect of the role. The position also involves developing business planning models in support of strategic mid-range and long-term forecasting and annual business planning. Furthermore, the role entails providing ongoing support in the business planning process, employing planning methodology and other appropriate methods, tools, and processes. Regular reports to departmental and divisional management on projects and programs are required. Developing statistical reports and providing technical and operational information in support of financial analysis and the development of business cases and Analyzing market, operating, and/or financial data to develop recommendations, improve operational and financial performance, and drive decision-making. Perform other duties as assigned. Master’s degree in business, finance, marketing analysis, computer science/information systems, or a related quantitative discipline plus 3 years of experience in finance, marketing, business planning, engineering planning, information systems consulting, project management, or similar quantitative business analysis. The employer will alternatively accept a PhD degree in business, finance, marketing analysis, computer science/information systems, or a related quantitative discipline in lieu of a Master's degree plus 3 years of experience.
Requirements:
The position requires experience or coursework with the following skills (skills can be gained concurrently with education): Knowledge of micro/macroeconomics, financial and strategic marketing theories/techniques, industrial engineering/planning theory, computer science/information systems theories/techniques, or project management best practices. Proficiency in computer languages, computer database, or information systems development. Strong quantitative/data analysis skills, business planning/analysis and requirements definition skills, or information systems development. Data Analysis: Ability to define data needed to measure customer behavior and/or product performance metrics and the related data sources in order to create analytics reports. Must know SQL/Python to query and identify data tables to produce reports, and data visualization tools, PowerBI. Statistical modeling: Ability to develop statistical models related to measuring the success of projects and determine the financial impact of launching new digital capabilities. Business Analysis: Conducts risk analytics to understand impact of projects. Ability to conduct model validation and quantitative forecasting. Software Product Management: Defines feature requirements partnering with Information Technology team members to implement enterprise-wide Digital Products. Develops business justification needed to launch new enhancements in order to increase customer adoption, reduce costs, and close competitive gaps. AI & Machine Learning: Model design, computer vision, and NLP (text classification); data collection, preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and basic production readiness steps. This position will be hybrid in Collierville, TN and candidates must live within a 50-mile radius. This position is hybrid, meaning that employees will be required to work at a FedEx office location up to several times per week.
