Technical Principal

Description

Provide leadership at the enterprise level for the technical design of significant projects. Areas of responsibility include Digital Content, Digital Business Development, Business Readiness, Digital Customer Continuity, Digital Marketing, Digital Product Development, Innovation, Regional IT, Information Security International, Application Development, Field IT, Application Development International, Architecture, Architecture & Application Development International. Serve as an expert resource to advise other teams and recommend solutions to technical design problems. Lead and/or assist in resolution of complex production problems. Mentor development in less senior positions. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent* in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of equivalent experience in an information technology or engineering environment. The employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of equivalent experience in an information technology or engineering environment in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience. The position requires experience with: Java Swing; Eclipse RCP; Big Data – Cassandra; Object Oriented Design Patterns. Skilled at leading/assisting in the resolution of complex production problems. The position will be hybrid in Memphis, TN and candidates must live within a 50-mile radius. The position is hybrid, meaning that employees will be required to work at a FedEx office location up to several times per week. *Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one (1) year of education.
