POSITION OVERVIEW:
Providing leadership on fuel procurement strategies, analyzing market trends, exploring alternative fuel options, establishing vendor relationships, identifying cost efficiencies, maintaining technical expertise, and ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Advises leadership on procurement strategy direction, efficiency improvements across network
2.    Provides technical expertise, marketplace knowledge and recommendations to Managing Director and Officer to support fuel strategy development and implementation
3.    Analyzes market to evaluate industry trends and explore emerging solutions to ensure cost efficiencies and introduce renewable or alternative fuel options, such as bio diesel, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hydrogen and dimethyl ether
4.    Directing and assisting Buyers in pursuing growth opportunities with Linehaul and Transportation Service Providers, recommending strategies to drive sales to FedEx.
5.    Identify and establish vendor and distributor relationships to continuously enhance opportunities for fuel purchase agreements and ensure a dedicated fuel supply 
6.    Identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies and cost control in purchase decisions 
7.    Maintains technical expertise through continuous learning and participation in industry-related training and seminars 
8.    Explores innovation technologies for application to fueling station management automation and fuel purchasing systems
9.    Stays abreast of State and Federal regulatory landscape to evaluate strategy and provide recommendation regarding purchase decisions and fuel stations operations
10.    Establish and maintain State and Federal agency contacts to advise management on technical aspects of rulemaking and supplies during emergencies
11.    Evaluates environmental impact of fuel strategy on overall sustainability initiatives 
12.    Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
13.    Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Management, Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience
•    Plus, six (6) years’ experience in procurement, distribution management or fuel related field
•    Comprehensive knowledge of fuel industry and applicable State and Federal regulations with the ability to recognize trends and opportunities to apply to the company’s advantage
•    Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information and interact with all levels of management
•    Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions
•    Demonstrated ability to build professional rapport with individuals at all levels, including outside of the company
•    Software proficiency, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications
